What would you do?

I want to bring everyone up to speed on recent events in my life. On August 1st, my significant other’s father was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain cancer and is expected to only be around another 12 to 14 months.

None of us saw this coming, and it really has me second guessing all my priorities in life. What I need to do and how I contribute to the family is very clear to me. David has a wide network of family and friends and I have geared him up to be able to share information and keep everyone up to speed on his progress via social media. He has a terrible time typing given that his left side is, well, not functioning well at all. For the past week I have been pulling all the pieces together to create a seamless workflow for David, making it as simple as possible to share what he wants to share.

As it stands today, all he has to do is shoot a video and save the file with his Microsoft LifeCam. Through mesh, it is up loaded to my sky drive and then synced to my system and processed and posted accordingly. Once a video is published to his wordpress blog, his twitter and facebook are updated with the proper link so everyone in his network gets the update.

David is very inspirational and their entire family is unconditionally giving. It breaks all of our hearts that they have to go through this, but all of us are doing everything we can to make it just a little bit easier.

Anyway, I just felt it might be a good idea to share what is going on and what I am doing and I hope something good comes from all of this. I thank all of you for your patience and look forward to getting back to work next week.
