I have been following Tom Beal for a few months now, ever since I heard great stuff about him from Jeff Johnson over beers one weekend. Being in a rut sucks and I have been trapped in one for a while. However, recently I was able to buy out the founding members of SBCA and truly take it over and drive it's overall direction. As Tom suggests, I have taken massive action in revamping the site from what it was in the old days (http://www.smallbusinesscommerceassociation.org/) and turning direction away from giving out awards.
The awards will always be a part of SBCA, and we'll continue to focus on being green and work primarily with the FREE web based awards. The physical awards are still available to those that like to use them as part of their marketing.
Going forward, SBCA will be focused on what we actually do best, and that is Internet Marketing. We will be using the SBCA as a platform to both educate and provide services to businesses that are in need and truly want to grow their business. I have set things up here so that you can frequent this site and use the information as you see fit.
